Environmental considerations form an integral part of the decision making process at Tuas Power, covering aspects
of plant design, fuel selection and machine operation.
Tuas Power Station consistently exceeds the environmental regulatory standards set out by the National Environment Agency
(NEA). As a generator that uses the cleaner natural gas for close to 100 per cent of its total production, Tuas Power Station’s
emission to air is currently among the lowest in the industry.
The shift over the years towards natural gas as our main fuel source has resulted in a 30% reduction in carbon emission per
unit of electricity generated as compared to five years ago.
