Tembusu Multi-Utilities Complex
The Tembusu Multi-Utilities Complex (TMUC), which is managed by Tuas Power subsidiary TP Utilities, is developed in line with the plans of the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) to establish the Tembusu industrial area of Jurong Island as a new petrochemical sector over the next five years. Currently under construction, the Complex will serve as a one-stop solutions centre that provides a cost-effective and integrated suite of utility services to industries that are setting up in Tembusu.
Occupying two sites, TMUC will comprise
the following key facilities:
- Biomass Clean Coal (BMCC) cogeneration plant
The BMCC Cogeneration Plant is the core of TMUC. It will house three Circulating Fluidised Bed (CFB) boilers that are capable of firing coal and biomass, by employing state-of-the-art circulating fluidised bed technology, to generate steam with lower emissions. Each boiler is highly efficient and has the capacity to produce up to 450 tonnes of steam per hour per unit.
- Desalination plant
The desalination plant is designed to provide up to 20 million gallons per day of high-grade industrial water for steam production and cooling water.
- Wastewater treatment facility
The wastewater treatment plant will provide physical, organic and biological waste treatment. It will be able to handle up to 1500 m3 of industrial waste water every hour.
- Demineralised water treatment plant
The water treatment plant will provide up to 1400m3 per hour of demineralised water.
