People are our most important resource. Beyond equipping employees with the requisite skills, we
emphasise developing our people to their fullest potential, caring for their job satisfaction and
well-being, and cultivating a sense of belonging.
Managing our talents
On-the-job and specialised training programmes ensure that our employees are better able to
perform their duties. For example, we organised targeted programmes during the year to provide
our staff with practical skills relevant to their responsibilities. These included the Service
Marketing Programme and the Contract Law Programme.
Employee engagement
To share the Company’s strategic directions with all employees, we held our annual
CEO-Staff Forum in April 2007. Monthly Coffee Meet Sessions with the President and
Chief Executive Officer are another important avenue for communication with the employees.
Tuas Power is also committed to close and constructive relations between Union and
Management, with good rapport maintained through monthly Management-Union Meetings.
A Collective Agreement was signed on 29 August 2007.
Work-life balance
We organised regular activities promoting a healthy lifestyle and work-life balance. A.C.T.I.V.E. Day and
the Inter-department Bowling Tournament fostered team spirit in an enjoyable way, while the Dinner &
Dance and Family Day expressed appreciation to our employees and their families.
