Mr Lim Kong Puay
President and Chief Executive Officer
Mr Lim assumed the position of President and Chief Executive Officer of Tuas Power Ltd on 1 July 2004.
Under his leadership, Tuas Power has expanded its business beyond the core areas of electricity generation,
trading and retail. In September 2006, Tuas Power sealed a contract for the development of the first
trigeneration facility in Singapore, through TPGS Green Energy, a joint venture in which Tuas Power is a major partner.
Mr Lim has held several key positions in Tuas Power since he first joined the team in 1996. As General Manager
(Operations) and then Deputy Chief Executive Officer, he successfully led the generation team through challenges
brought about by the newly liberalised electricity market in Singapore and integrated the core businesses of Tuas
Power to realise the synergy among its business units. Today, Tuas Power Station contributes to 25 per cent of
Singapore’s electricity needs. It has also developed new capabilities, such as oil tanking, in an effort to maximise the
utilisation of assets and diversify the Company’s revenue stream.
Mr Lim graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Engineering, Mechanical, in 1981. He has
been invited to address at various energy related symposiums for his wealth of experience and knowledge in the
field of electricity generation.
