2010

  January To reflect its new business portfolio, Tuas Power Utilities Pte Ltd was renamed TP Asset Management Pte Ltd. The Company will now concentrate on providing project management and asset management services for its clients.
 




2009

  December TP Utilities Pte Ltd was established to undertake all businesses related to the Tembusu Multi-Utilities Complex, which is currently being built in the Tembusu industrial area of Jurong Island.

  September Tuas Power Generation Pte. Ltd. was incorporated to undertake the electricity generation and retail businesses of Tuas Power Ltd. Tuas Power Generation Pte. Ltd. now manages Tuas Power Station and is the parent company of Tuas Power Supply Pte Ltd.
 




2008

  October TPGS Green Energy officially turned over the operations of Singapore’s largest trigeneration plant to global pharmaceutical company Schering-Plough LTD. A handover ceremony was held at the premises of Schering-Plough LTD to mark the successful completion of the 10 MW natural gas-fired trigeneration plant, which was developed and built by TPGS under a partnership with Schering-Plough LTD.

Tuas Power launched its Green Consultancy Service to help companies improve the design of their new buildings to achieve higher energy efficiency and reduce the impact on the environment.

September Tuas Power announced that it will build a new state-of-the-art multi-utilities complex comprising a cogeneration plant, a desalination plant, and a waste water treatment facility in the Tembusu area on Jurong Island. Scheduled to commence operations by 2011, the Tembusu Multi-Utilities Complex will serve the cluster of industries that are setting up shop in the area.

Tuas Power was awarded the contract to supply an integrated suite of multi-utilities services to the new NExBTL renewable diesel production plant that Finnish oil refiner Neste Oil Corporation is building in Singapore. The plant will be located next to the Tuas Power-owned power station in Tuas South.

July Huaneng Power International, Inc, acquired Sino-Sing Power, which owns Tuas Power Ltd, from China Huaneng Group. Tuas Power Ltd is now a member of Huaneng Power International, Inc.

May TPGS Green Energy held a groundbreaking ceremony for the two 5MW cogeneration facilities that it is building for ISK Singapore, a subsidiary of Ishihara Sangyo Kaisha, Ltd (ISK). ISK is one of the top manufacturers of titanium oxide in the world. This project marks the first ever cogeneration plant to be commissioned by a Japanese company in Singapore

March China Huaneng Group, through its wholly-owned subsidiary SinoSing Power Pte Ltd, successfully acquired Tuas Power Ltd from Temasek Holdings.
 




2007

  October TPGS Green Energy officially handed over Singapore’s first trigeneration plant to pharmaceutical giant Pfizer Inc on 30 October. The Pfizer trigeneration plant was developed and built by TPGS under a partnership with Pfizer Asia Pacific. Under a 15-year agreement with Pfizer, TPGS will offer utility provision, maintenance asset management services for the trigeneration facility.

September On 14 September, Tuas Power Supply (TPS) became Singapore’s very first electricity retailer to initiate a value-added scheme for its customers. Called the Tuas Power Supply Green Programme, it aims to encourage companies to conduct regular assessments to improve energy efficiency and minimise the environmental impact of their operations.

July Tuas Power entered into a joint venture with Water and Environmental Technologies (WET) Pte Ltd, a subsidiary of Beng Kuang Marine Limited, through a 60 per cent stake in environmental recycling firm, New Earth Singapore Pte Ltd.

April On 20 April 2007, Tuas Power was awarded the ISO 14001:2004 certification as an endorsement for the Company’s commitment towards environment-friendly operations.

February TPGS Green Energy signed a contract for the development of Singapore’s largest trigeneration plant for Schering-Plough Pte Ltd. The 9.2 MW plant is expected to be completed by mid 2008.

 




2006

  November TPGS Green Energy held a groundbreaking
ceremony for its first trigeneration development project - a 5 MW facility for the provision of electricity, steam and chilled water for one of its client companies. The event was officiated by Dr Amy Khor, Senior Parliamentary Secretary (Ministry of Environment and Water Resources).


September Tuas Power entered into a joint venture with Gas Supply Pte Ltd to form TPGS Green Energy Pte
Ltd. TPGS provides trigeneration and cogeneration services to large manufacturing facilities in Singapore.

March Tuas Power Supply Pte Ltd (TPS) launched a new credit card scheme for SME consumers.

 




2005

  September The development of Stage II Tuas Power Station was completed with the commissioning of CCP Block 4. The latest addition to the Company’s plant portfolio brings the Station to its licensed capacity of 2,670 MW.



March Tuas Power Ltd celebrated its 10th Anniversary
since incorporation. A series of celebrations to
mark this special year was organised, including
a community project that raised a
total of $100,000 for the Movement for the
Intellectually Disabled of Singapore.


 




2004

  June Tuas Power Ltd and Gas Supply Pte Ltd (GSPL) signed an End User Agreement for the supply of natural gas to Tuas Power Station from 1 April 2005, for a period of 18 years.

January Tuas Power Supply celebrated the achievement of signing more than 1,000 accounts by holding an Appreciation Dinner for its customers.
 




2003

  October Tuas Power signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Kyushu Electric Power Co., Inc. agreeing to the exchange of information and technical knowledge for the purpose of mutual advancement in the business of electricity generation and retail.

May Tuas Power Supply Pte Ltd launched new electricity supply packages catered for the Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) segment.
 




2002

  January Tuas Power commenced commercial operation of Combined Cycle Power Plant Block 2.
 




2001

  November Tuas Power commenced commercial operation of Combined Cycle Power Plant Block 1.

October The contracts for the development of Tuas Power Stage II Combined Cycle Plant Blocks 3 and 4 was signed.

May Tuas Power Supply Pte Ltd signed its first batch of customers.
 




2000

  November Tuas Power Supply Pte Ltd was awarded the public license as a private electricity supplier by the Public Utilities Board.

June Tuas Power Supply Pte Ltd was incorporated for the purpose of entering into the contestable market of the electricity supply business.
 




1999

  December Stage I of Tuas Power Station was fully completed with the commissioning of Unit 2 of the 600MW oil-fired steam sets.

October The construction for the first 2 blocks of 367.5MW single shaft Combined Cycle Plants (CCP) under Stage II development commenced.

March Unit 1 in Stage I Tuas Power Station was commissioned into service.
 




1998

  November Tuas Power Ltd entered the Singapore Electricity Pool and began trading electricity and competing to generate in the Pool.

September Tuas Power Ltd was converted to a public unlisted company.

April The Singapore Electricity Pool (SEP) was established. Tuas Power became a member of the Pool.
 




1997

  June The Public Utilities Board (PUB) granted a generation license to Tuas Power.
 




1995

  October Singapore began the restructuring of the electricity industry.

March Tuas Power Pte Ltd was formed as a wholly owned subsidiary of Temasek Holdings.
 




1994

  The Public Utilities Board (PUB) began planning and construction of two 600MW oil-fired steam generating sets for Stage I at Tuas Power Station.
