August TP Utilities was awarded a ten-year utility contract to supply Zeon Chemical’s upcoming synthetic rubber facility with low pressure steam, starting from the first quarter of 2013.

July Tuas Power Supply became Singapore’s first electricity retailer to offer lighting solutions to its customers. This programme helps them reduce their energy consumption through retrofitting their existing conventional lighting systems with energy saving ones. In conjunction with the launch, Tuas Power sponsored S$100,000 worth of lighting solutions to help five charitable organisations reduce overhead costs.

April TP Utilities was awarded a 15-year contract to supply steam and demineralised water to a new chemical plant owned by Taiwanese petrochemical company Dairen Chemicals Corporation, starting from the first quarter of 2013. 

December Tuas Power was recognised as a Business Superbrand.
NewEarth Singapore, a joint venture between NewEarth, Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore, and Surbana International Consultants, broke ground for its Crystallisation Technology waste-reutilisation plant located in Tuas industrial area.

June Tuas Power unit TP Utilities won a contract from Lanxess, the world’s largest manufacturer of synthetic rubber, to supply steam, high-grade industrial water and demineralised water to Lanxess’s new butyl rubber plant, which will be situated in the Tembusu industrial area of Jurong Island.

December TP Utilities Pte Ltd was established to undertake all businesses related to the Tembusu Multi-Utilities Complex, which is currently being built in the Tembusu industrial area of Jurong Island.

November Tuas Power broke ground for the first phase of construction of its Tembusu Multi-Utilities Complex, which will comprise a Biomass-Clean Coal Cogeneration plant, a desalination plant and some supporting facilities.

October TPGS Green Energy officially handed over a 10 MW cogeneration facility that it had built for ISK Singapore Pte Ltd. It will also provide utilities and maintenance asset management services for the cogeneration facility under a 10-year agreement with ISK Singapore.

October TPGS Green Energy officially handed over the operations of a 10MW trigeneration plant to global pharmaceutical company Schering-Plough LTD.

Tuas Power Supply launched its Green Consultancy Service to help companies improve the design of their new buildings to achieve higher energy efficiency and reduce the impact on the environment.

September Tuas Power announced that it will build a new state-of-the-art multi-utilities complex comprising a cogeneration plant, a desalination plant, and a waste water treatment facility in the Tembusu area on Jurong Island. When completed, the Tembusu Multi-Utilities Complex will serve the cluster of industries that are setting up in the area.

Tuas Power was awarded a contract to supply an integrated suite of multi-utility services to the new NExBTL renewable diesel production plant that Finnish oil refiner Neste Oil Corporation is building in Singapore.

July NYSE-listed Huaneng Power International, Inc, acquired Sino-Sing Power, which owns Tuas Power Ltd, from China Huaneng Group. Tuas Power Ltd is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Huaneng Power International, Inc.

May TPGS Green Energy held a ground breaking ceremony for the two 5MW cogeneration facilities that it is building for ISK Singapore, a subsidiary of Ishihara Sangyo Kaisha, Ltd (ISK).

March China Huaneng Group, through its wholly-owned subsidiary SinoSing Power Pte Ltd, successfully acquired Tuas Power Ltd from Temasek Holdings.

October TPGS Green Energy officially handed over Singapore’s first large scale trigeneration plant to pharmaceutical giant Pfizer Inc. Under a 15-year agreement with Pfizer, TPGS will provide utilities and maintenance asset management services for the trigeneration facility, which was developed and built by TPGS under a partnership with Pfizer.

September Tuas Power Supply (TPS) became Singapore’s very first electricity retailer to initiate a value-added scheme known as the Green Programme that encourages companies to conduct regular assessments to improve energy efficiency and minimise the environmental impact of their operations.

July Tuas Power entered into a joint venture with Water and Environmental Technologies (WET) Pte Ltd, a subsidiary of Beng Kuang Marine Limited, through a 60 per cent stake in waste recycling firm, New Earth Pte Ltd.

April Tuas Power was awarded the ISO 14001:2004 certification, an endorsement of the Company’s commitment towards maintaining environment responsible operations.

February TPGS Green Energy signed a contract for the development of Singapore’s largest trigeneration plant for Schering-Plough Pte Ltd. The 9.2 MW plant is expected to be completed by middle of 2008.

November TPGS Green Energy held a ground breaking ceremony for its first trigeneration development project - a 5 MW facility for the provision of electricity, steam and chilled water for one of its client companies. The event was graced by Dr Amy Khor, Senior Parliamentary Secretary of the Ministry of Environment and Water Resources.

September Tuas Power entered into a joint venture with Gas Supply Pte Ltd to form TPGS Green Energy Pte Ltd. TPGS will provide trigeneration and cogeneration services to large manufacturing facilities in Singapore.

September The development of Stage II Tuas Power Station was completed with the commissioning of CCP Block 4. The latest addition to the Company’s plant portfolio brings the Station to its licensed capacity of 2,670 MW.

March Tuas Power Ltd celebrated its 10th Anniversary since incorporation. A series of celebrations to mark this special year was organised, including a community project that raised a total of $100,000 for the Movement for the Intellectually Disabled of Singapore (MINDS).

June Tuas Power Ltd and Gas Supply Pte Ltd (GSPL) signed an End User Agreement for the supply of natural gas to Tuas Power Station from 1 April 2005, for a period of 18 years.

January Tuas Power Supply celebrated the achievement of signing more than 1,000 accounts by holding an Appreciation Dinner for its customers.
